Glossary

Short definitions so adjacent roles can follow the evidence page.

Term	Meaning
GSRF	Gradient-Stabilized Recursive Filtering — log-space recursive update with restoring spring and saturating nonlinearities.
Zero Overshoot	Commercial product name for GSRF-oriented tooling and licensing (not a mathematical “zero overshoot theorem” claim).
Soft thermostat	Metaphor: state is pulled toward a declared normal (setpoint) while still softly listening to observations.
x*	Equilibrium / normal in log-space (often median log of a calm prefix, or adaptive trailing median).
k_return	Strength of the spring back to x*. Non-zero values buy peak/oscillation control; cost tracking MAD.
w_obs / obs pull	Bounded observation coupling: tanh of observation error in log-space.
Practical vs Reference	Practical includes observation pull; Reference is the open-attractor twin (weak tracking of live data).
EMA	Exponential moving average — a common tracker baseline.
MAD	Mean absolute deviation (here usually vs raw). Lower is better tracking; GSRF often loses by design.
osc31	Oscillation metric: std of (signal − rolling mean of length 31). Lower is “calmer” high-pass energy.
Sweet band	Period band (~50–120 samples) where GSRF’s mid-band kill is strongest in locked packs.
Claim ladder	Public list of allowed vs refused marketing wording (Workbench).
Quantum ladder	Separate research/commercial track for BP/QEC preprocessing — not mixed into industrial homepage claims. Public one-pager: /quantum. Detailed tables under NDA.
